Wedding party quarantine flouters pay $100,000  fine

The  bill for a  recent high-end wedding party has risen by $100,000 as the organizers of a  celebration in the social area of a luxury tower in  Paitilla during Quarantine in late March have paid a fine imposed by the    Ministry of Health.

During a press conference, the day after the event Health  Minister Rosario Turner said that, given the national emergency situation of  COVID-19, no one, under any circumstances, can violate the provisions of Executive Decree 507, which establishes,  curfew, absolute quarantine and prohibits crowding of people in public places to prevent the spread of the virus.

“Here everyone has to comply. From the largest with economic power to the smallest, no one has privileges here is the life of all Panamanians, “said Turner at the time.
