Police hunt for couple linked to escaped killer
Armed with search warrants the National Police and the Public Prosecutor’s have seized in a house in the district of Bugaba in Chiriqui equipment allegedly linked to the escape of multiple murderer Gilberto Ventura Ceballos , who was recaptured on Thursday, February 13 under a bridge in El Salado, Remedios, Chiriqui and carried a radio, a cell phone and binoculars.
Among the seized material there were two cell phones, computers and bank transaction receipts.
Ventura Ceballos will remain in a temporary cell at the Ancón headquarters of the National Police where he was taken with a heavily armed escort to be paraded in front of a waiting crowd of journalists
A hearing has not yet been scheduled before a court of guarantees in the accusatory criminal system for his escape from La Nueva Joya prison, in early February.
He was serving a 50-year sentence fort he murder of five students plus another five years for previous escape. Discussons are underway to decide where he will be held when he is returned to complete his sentences
