Call for Latin American unity against US

Bolivian President Evo Morales on Thursday, February 21  urged Latin American presidents to unite against “US interference” in Venezuela, so that Latin America will ” never again be the backyard” of US politics.

Bolivia participated on February 7 in Montevideo at the meeting of the International Contact Group on Venezuela between countries of Latin America and Europe, but without subscribing the statement in which it warned of the “severity of the current crisis in Venezuela and of its impact in the region. “

The crisis worsened in January when  the head of the Venezuelan Parliament opposition, Juan Guaidó, was proclaimed interim president of the country considering Nicolás Maduro, illegitimate  after an election that the Venezuelan opposition considers “fraudulent.”

Morales expressed in a message on the social network his rejection of “the interventionist threats of Donald Trump to the brother country of Venezuela,”
