OPINION; Dishonoring the Supreme Court

The most important case that the Supreme Court has known in recent times is the trial of former President Ricardo Martinelli. Regardless of the outcome of the process, important precedents are being established, while establishing the jurisprudence that will serve as a parameter for this type of casein the future. The continuous exercise of resources by the defense has forced the Court to define many key and fundamental points of the Panamanian law. However, the urgency of the situation seems not to be evident for some magistrates of the Court, who have decided to leave  this case in the hands of alternate magistrates, and that these are responsible for making decisions that, for them, could be compromising . Evading its historical commitment, alleging impediments or inventing inexplicable licenses, they have stopped acting, while the respective substitutes decide to follow the mandate of those owners who have decided not to show their faces. That is nothing but a great dishonor.
