Corralled tax dodgers boost state income

GOVERNMENT  efforts to reduce evasion boosted tax revenues,  the main source of income, by 10.3 percent  in the first seven months of the year.

The total  income from all sources was  just over $4 billion  an increase of 6 percent or $236.3 million in comparison with the same period of the previous year.

The amount, however, was below the $4.4 billion that had been budgeted, a shortfall of 5.7 percent.
