41,000 can vote in University election

SOME 41,000 people, teachers, students and administrators, are eligible to vote in the University of Panama elections.to choose a successor to the long reigning, controversial rector,

They will vote for a replacement as well as 15 deans and nine regional directors on Thursday June 29, Those elected will serve until 2021.

Ricardo Parker, president of the university’s Electoral Commission, reported that there will be 153 polling stations at campuses across the country.

The elections will begin at 8 a.m. and will end at 8:00 p.m.
