Boquete Orchid Fair drawing visitors

 BOQUETE, Chiriqui continues to be  a magnet for tourists and retirees with its ambience,  coffee plantations scenery cooler climate and an active participating community with a seemingly endless list of special events.

The current focus is on the   Orchid Fair which has already attracted some 3000 to the event on the site of the of the International Coffee and Flower Fair where, in the greenhouse between 700 and 800 species of domestic and foreign orchids are on display.

The organizers are anticipating a final tally of 25,000 before the Fair closes, April 2. Tickets are 50 cents.

Board president Reynaldo Serracín, says that the event will generate about $35,000 for the community.
