Supreme court judge facing corruption, pedophilia allegations

 A CRIMINAL complaint has been laid before the National Assembly against a Panama Supreme Court Judge. It includes allegations of pedophilia and corruption.

The document lodged  April 21 at the Assembly’s General Secretariat names Victor Benavides for the possible commission of crimes against sexual freedom and sexual integrity, against the public administration and other offenses..

The plaintiffs, the legal firm of   Vega & Alvarez, base their claim on statements, widely aired on TV and in print media,  of  Vicente Caballero Zamorano, former chief of security for the judge  who  is serving a 15 years sentence for the kidnapping and robbery of the judge’s 95-year-old mother.

Caballero Zamorano has identified the alleged offenses “against public administration, freedom and sexual integrity against minors and the financing of these same acts by alleged corruption executed in use or abuse its judiciary, “the document says.

 Caballero,Zamorano was convicted in 2013 for masterminding the kidnapping of Cecilia Pinilla, the mother of Benavides,  on October 13, 2010.
