Electoral prosecutor turns sights on media critics

ELECTORAL PROSECUTOR Eduardo Peñaloza who has been widely criticized for his lack of action on complaints relating to alleged infringments by the ruling party has turned his sights on some of his critics.

On Thursday April 3 he filed a complaint against La Prensa and Mi Diario stating that the newspapers violated the privacy of him and his family.

The complaint was filed  at the headquarters of the Public Ministry on Avenida Peru, reports La Prensa
"My family data has been revealed and has put my children at risk," he said. "I hold them responsible for any situation that would endanger my children."
In his complaint, the official mentioned the Feb. 3 story in La Prensa titled "Official data for campaign" which reported information from a CD campaign database. This data included personal information about Peñaloza and his family.
He also cited a Mi Diario article which questioned the amount of work he did versus his $10,000 a month salary.
