Martinelli issues lie detector challenge

PRESIDENT Ricardo Martinelli, says he is willing to submit to a "lie detector" test to prove that his government and his family have been victims of a set up by Italians Mauro Velocci and Valter Lavítola .

He challenged Rolando Rodriguez, associate director of La Prensa, Roberto Eisenmann, founder of the newspaper and former presidential candidate Balbina Herrera opposition and Velocci to do the same.

In a interview with FOX Report, the president said that he has nothing to clarify, since the entire case was investigated in Panama and the case has already been filed. Constantly shuffling through bundles of papers that he had brought into the studio, Martinelli reacted angrily to many of the questions that were put to him, gesticulated and pointed and used the “F” word, while occasionally bending down to take a swig from a plastic water bottle.
Martinelli also said that, his son and namesake would proceed legally against publications. "I think in fact he did it yesterday," he said.
He also said that later this month he will travel to Italy, not because of the investigations but to meet Pope Francis.
