Investigation opened into TV coverage of Arias presidential bid

A SUMMARY investigation has been opened into the coverage of the campaign launch of CD presidential candidate Jose Domingo Arias on state-owned SERTV.

"We saw media reports of the coverage," said Electoral Prosecutor Eduardo Peñaloza. 

The station covered the event in full. This caused criticism and questions from civic groups and the opposition, who claim the station was promoting the pro-government candidate.
