Labeled head pieces for motor cyclists

MOTORCYCLISTS in Panama have just 15 days to emblazon their helmets and jackets with their license plate numbers.

In spite or concerns and loud protests from motorcycle owners, the government on Wednesday, July 10, authorized the transit agency ATTT to implement the new regulations.

The move, according to the ATTT, is designed to reduce crimes committed by criminals on motorcycles and increase safety.
The measures will go into effect July 24. Motorcycle groups have said the lettering will do nothing to improve road safety or reduce crime, but will cost them money.
