Mayors free buses a palliative – users
PANAMA’S public transit users see the renting of 50 buses by Panama’s mayor to provide free bus service on selected routes as a palliative.
Others have called the move politicking, and some deputies have called for the Mi Bus company to pay the city the $250,000 the buses will cost.
The removal of diablos rojos from the transport system and the transition to Metro Bus, was supposed improve the daily lives of by thousands of citizens who use public transportation to get from one place to another in the city, has not reflected the improvements promised by the Mi Bus company and the government of President Ricardo Martinelli says David Ramirez, of the Movement October 23,.
He told La Prensa. that although steps have been taken to speed up the frequency of the Metro Bus, much remains to be done to enable users to enjoy a shuttle service " comfortable, safe and reliable " as described by the government.
