Martinellis drone comments lack dignity – Varela
Presidential candidate and Panameñista party leader Juan Carlos Varela took President Ricardo Martinelli to task for calling the PRD presidential candidate a drone.
He also called on winner of the PRD primaries to hold a debate on the basis of the government's plans.
The opposition leader, who was touring of Arraiján on Sunday, and referred to the 33% turnout in the primary elections of the PRD and asserted that this won't happen in his party’s presedential primary next Sunday.
"Attendance at the polls depends on the level of motivation that the base has for the presidential candidate," Varela said.
On the adjectives like "drone", used by President Ricardo Martinelli against Juan Carlos Navarro on the weekend, Varela said that the president should "save the dignity of his office."
Varela stressed that Martinelli should refrain from using his position for partisan politics.
