American shot dead in boat attack off Chiriqui

Panama’s security image took another hit on Wednesay, July 1, when Bob Olsen, 61, an American citizen who had been living on his boat off the coast of Chiriquí, was shot and killed during an attackby four armed men
Two other people on board his sailboat, Antares " were injured in the attack. His son, Zacarías Ksaer Olsen, was shot, and Sugey Rodríguez, 27, sustained injuries to her forehead.
Ramón López, deputy commissioner of the Naval Service in Chiriquí, said the two injured people were takento the Port of Pedregal in another vessel at about 1:30 a.m. They said that four armed men had stormed the boat, which was anchored in the Gulf of Chiriquí off the island of Bajo Pipón.
Olsen’s body was transferred to the judicial morgue of David.
