593 new Coronavirus cases strain hospitals, staff
Thirteen coronavirus deaths on Wednesday, June 17 brought the total to 470, while 653 new infections raised the number to 22,597 reports the Epidemiological Surveillance System of Panama.
There are 6,987 in home isolation, 773 are in hotels, 593 are hospitalized, with 481 in wards and 109 in intensive care putting strain on hospital beds and staff. both in short supply.
Panama and Panama West are the most affected provinces.
