Worrying Rebound in Panama Covid Cases
Health authorities have warned in recent week there is a real rebound in cases of covid-19 in Panama.
Figures from the Department of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reveal that the month of May will close with more positive cases of Covid-19 as well as deaths from the virus than in the month of April.
In April, a total of 9,525 positive cases and 118 deaths were registered. Meanwhile, from May 1 to 28, the new positive cases totaled 11,661 and 129 deaths.
Although they are much lower figures compared to those of January, February, and March of this year, epidemiologists maintain that we must be alert.
At this time, 72% of the cases come from Chiriquí, Coclé, Panama, and Veraguas.
