Panama Seeks Investors in Singapore and Presented Major Projects.

Foreign Minister Javier Martínez-Acha presented Panamanian infrastructure and logistics projects to Singaporean business leaders to promote new investments.

Foreign Minister Javier Martínez-Acha held a meeting this Saturday, October 3, in Singapore with business representatives from sectors such as maritime, pharmaceutical, real estate, health and legal, among others, interested in learning about investment opportunities in Panama.  During the meeting, Martínez-Acha presented aspects of the 2025-2029 Strategic Government Plan and explained the projects that the Panamanian administration seeks to develop to boost economic activity and improve the country’s infrastructure.  Among the initiatives presented were road reactivation projects that, according to the Government, include multimillion-dollar investments and the creation of more than 7,000 jobs.  The chancellor also referred to mobility and social infrastructure projects, including:

  • The Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal.
  • The expansion of the Tocumen International Airport platform.
  • Projects related to regional airports.
  • Mobility and infrastructure works included in government planning.

The presentation is part of Panama’s efforts to attract foreign capital and promote the country as a platform for logistics, maritime, commercial and service activities.

Foreign Minister Highlights Investment Opportunities in Panama.

“Panama is attracting attention for its open policies, stability, and, above all, major projects that will allow our country to experience a period of growth in the coming years,” Martínez-Acha stated during the meeting.  The international promotion of Panama is part of the Government’s foreign policy, which has indicated among its objectives the diversification of alliances, opening of markets and attraction of investments.  The business meeting is taking place during President José Raúl Mulino’s official visit to Singapore, the first stop on a tour that will later continue to Vietnam. The agenda aims to strengthen alliances in the maritime, aviation, technology, trade, and agricultural sectors.

Panama Invites Business Leaders to the 2027 Economic Forum.

Martínez-Acha also invited Singaporean business representatives to participate in the III International Economic Forum Latin America and the Caribbean 2027, which Panama is preparing together with CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean.  The meeting is scheduled for January 2027 and Panama is already working with CAF on diplomatic, logistical and security aspects, in addition to the process of inviting international delegations.  The forum will be another platform to promote investment opportunities and strengthen trade ties between Latin America and other regions.
