A Colombian Woman Found Murdered in Burunga Panama.  They are Organizing a Fundraiser for the Funeral Expenses.

The body of the foreign woman was found in a grassy area near the main road in the Dos de Mayo sector of the Burunga district.

Panama – Melany Cadavid Román, 27, originally from Antioquia Colombia, arrived in Panama eight months ago to escape violence. Her femicide has shocked the community. While the Public Ministry is advancing in the investigations for the femicide of Melany Cadavid Román, through different social media platforms, a collection of funds is being organized in favor of the family for funeral expenses.  Melany, 27 years old and originally from Antioquia, Colombia, had arrived in Panama eight months ago accompanied by her 8-year-old son.  The young woman from Antioquia made the decision to travel to Panama to live with relatives and escape the violence that had taken the life of her romantic partner in November 2025. 

“Today we unite for Melany.” This is the headline on the Instagram page of the business where the woman from Antioquia worked and which is organizing the fundraiser.  Upon arriving in Panama, Melany settled in the Parque Lefevre area, where her father and stepmother maintain a residence. 


Melany Cadavid Romás, a Colombian national, was the woman found dead on Saturday morning in a grassy area in the La Sosa sector, Burunga district, in Arraiján.
