Panama President Mulino Plans a Meeting with Business Owners and Retirees to Discuss Expanded Discounts as it Pertains to the Law and Perhaps Find a Middle Ground.

President José Raúl Mulino announced that next week he will convene a meeting at the Presidential Palace with representatives of retiree associations and the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) to analyze the recently approved law that increases benefits for retirees.  According to a social media post by the president, three representatives from the retirees’ unions and three from the Chamber of Commerce will participate.  Mulino indicated that the objective of the meeting will be to find formulas that allow the law to be implemented and to seek a solution to the problems that, according to him, its approval in the National Assembly has generated.  “I hope and trust that we will find a solution to the problems generated by this legislative approval,” the president said.
