Proposal Exceeds $255 Million for the Construction of the Panama-San Miguelito Cable Car Project.

On Tuesday, August 18, the Panama Metro held the presentation and opening of proposals for the Best Value tender for the construction of the Panama and San Miguelito cable carDuring the process, a proposal was received submitted electronically by Doppelmayr Panama Corp., for an amount of $255,163,788.03.  The proposing company will now have three business days to make any necessary corrections during the bidding process. Once this period concludes, the Evaluation Committee will be formed and will have a minimum of 10 business days to analyze the proposal and prepare its report.

What’s Next in the Cable Car Tender?

The process still needs to go through the review and evaluation stages established in the bidding process. The financial proposal submitted by Doppelmayr Panama Corp. will be analyzed by the Evaluation Committee, which will determine if it meets the established requirements.  Subsequently, the corresponding stages must be completed before the contract award can be determined. The Panama and San Miguelito Cable Car project represents one of the mobility initiatives that seeks to expand transportation options for residents of both districts.

The Proposal Exceeds $255 Million.

The only proposal received so far amounts to $255.16 million, a figure that includes the amount offered by the company for the project.  However, the submission of this proposal does not yet mean that the contract has been awarded, since the correction process, evaluation and the other stages contemplated in the tender must first be completed.
