The CSS in Panama Performs the First Robotic Telesurgery in Chiriquí.

The first robotic gynecological telesurgery performed at Dr. Rafael Hernández Hospital in Chiriquí integrated specialists from the City of Health with the province’s medical team, reported the director of the Social Security Fund (CSS), Dino Mon. 

Mon highlighted that this advance will allow highly complex procedures to be carried out in other regions of the country and reduce the need to transfer patients to the capital.  The CSS director pointed out that robotic surgery and telemedicine expand the possibilities of offering more specialized, modern and accessible care to those insured.
