In Chiriquí Province Panama, Rain and Thunderstorms Cause Damage and Fatalities.

The National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) reported widespread damage in the province of Chiriquí following heavy rains, strong winds, and thunderstorms in recent hours. Damage includes fallen trees, blocked roads, downed power lines, and damage to homes and vehicles.  In Zapotal, a district of San Lorenzo, an electrical discharge incident occurred that left people dead and injured, according to the SINAPROC report.  The competent authorities are carrying out the corresponding procedures.  Emergency services are maintaining monitoring and carrying out relief and clearing operations in the area.
