Police Arrest a Panama Citizen Allegedly Linked to a Human Trafficking Network for Recruitment in the War Between Russia and Ukraine
As a result of an investigative action carried out at the Tocumen International Airport, the National Police through the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ) apprehended a Panamanian citizen in flagrante delicto, allegedly linked to a criminal network dedicated to the crime against humanity, in the form of human trafficking.

According to the investigation, the suspect allegedly recruited Panamanian citizens through false job offers to transport and recruit them for purposes related to the war between Russia and Ukraine. During the operation, police units located and rescued two Panamanian victims who were preparing to travel under this supposed job offer.

At the time of his arrest, the suspect was found in possession of both victims’ passports. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the Second Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime for the corresponding procedures and investigations.
