Government Maintains Vigilance Regarding the Phenomenon

The president’s statements come after the Panama Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (IMHPA) reported that the country is experiencing conditions associated with the El Niño phenomenon, with forecasts of rainfall deficits and increased temperatures between July and December 2026. Authorities have warned that this scenario could affect agricultural production, increase the heat index, and create greater challenges for water supply and other activities dependent on rainfall.
