Spirit Airlines: What will Happen to Their Passengers?

The U.S. Secretary of Transportation announced that agreements have been reached for other airlines to take over the care of passengers with purchased tickets. In Latin America, Avianca announced it can transport stranded passengers free of charge.

Following the definitive cessation of operations by the US low-cost airline, Spirit Airlines, thousands of passengers who had booked flights are affected and must seek alternatives with other airlines to continue their journey.  At its peak, this airline operated 700 daily flights to 77 destinations in the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. It even flew between Orlando and Panama City until December 2022, when operations were suspended due to route adjustments.
