New Employment by Cobre Panamá with Cleaning Days in Donoso and La Pintada
As part of its support for neighboring communities and in conjunction with local authorities, Cobre Panamá continues to promote the hiring of local labor through cleaning and maintenance days in communities of La Pintada and Donoso, generating employment opportunities for residents of the area.

In the district of La Pintada, seven community members have been hired to carry out cleaning and maintenance work in the bypass area, specifically in sectors connecting to the communities of Santa Ana, Los Reyes, and Farallón. These workdays began approximately 15 days ago. In addition, three people have been hired in San Juan de Turbe to perform maintenance work at the community school, bringing the total number of community members benefiting from this first phase to ten.

“We are very grateful to Cobre Panamá for the opportunity they are giving us. In La Pintada, there isn’t much work sometimes, and being considered for these tasks is something we really appreciate,” commented Xavier Castroverde, a resident of La Pintada and one of the community members hired for the cleanup days. In the coming weeks, the program will continue to expand in the Omar Torrijos area, with planned work in San Juan de Turbe, Nuevo San José, Nazareno and Coclesito, where the staggered hiring of 18 additional people is planned, which will allow reaching an impact of 28 community members hired by the end of March.

In the Donoso district, the green area maintenance program, developed in conjunction with the Donoso Civic Committee, has benefited 162 community members over the past five months, including cleaning staff, boat operators, and support personnel, 60 of whom have been women. The work has been carried out in communities such as Río Belén, Palmilla, Coclé del Norte, Platanal, Aguacate, Limón, Quebrada Grande, Chalón, Miguel de la Borda, Río Indio, Govea, and Río Diego. “We know that many families in these communities need job opportunities.

That’s why, in addition to the hiring that is already taking place, we are promoting these job fairs so that more people can have an income and support their families,” said Maru Gálvez, Public Relations Manager at Cobre Panamá. These initiatives reflect Cobre Panamá’s commitment to local employment and the well-being of communities, promoting job opportunities while contributing to the maintenance and care of the spaces used daily by residents.
