A Panama Newborn Babe Found Abandoned in Tinajitas and Rushed to a Clinic

Abandoned baby taken to emergency. Authorities reported that investigations have been launched to clarify the facts, locate those responsible, and determine the circumstances that led to the abandonment of the minor.

A newborn baby girl was found abandoned on Friday afternoon in the vicinity of the Idaan water reserve tanks, located in the Tinajitas sector, following a citizen alert received through line 104.  According to the preliminary report, National Police officers immediately responded to the scene, where they found the baby abandoned. She was subsequently taken to the Dr. Generoso Guardia Polyclinic for medical evaluation.  Medical personnel indicated that the infant was approximately four hours old upon admission and that, despite the circumstances in which she was found, her health is stable.


The newborn remains under observation while her comprehensive protection is ensured.  Authorities reported that investigations have been launched to clarify the facts, locate those responsible, and determine the circumstances that led to the abandonment of the minor.  A similar incident was reported a few days ago in the Río Sereno sector of Renacimiento, Chiriquí. Investigations have also been opened into this case.
