Growing grass under the feet is not in the rule book of the Ancon Theatre Guild.
With their Christmas Potpourri sitting in the wings waiting to amuse us all on December 17 and 18, producer Gale Cellucci is already making plans for the next performance in February.
December 18 is a Saturday. On Monday December 20, auditions will be held for roles in God's Favorite the 1974 comedy by Neil Simon, loosely based on the Biblical Book of Job. The setting of the play is a Long Island mansion home of a pious, God-fearing tycoon his family: a long-suffering wife, Rose, a prodigal son, David, a pair of kooky twins, Ben and Sarah, and the maid and butler, Mady and Morris.
Needed are actors to play the father and mother in their mid fifties, the twins, one male and one female in their mid twenties , the prodigal son, mid to late 20’s God’s messenger , (male or female) indeterminate age and two servants male and female , age undetermined.
Volunteers are also required for backstage, costumes, make-up, and more so if you are a veteran theater goer or new to the smell of grease paint, this is your chance to get closer to the action in the Guild’s 61st year. Auditions start at 7.30 at The Theatre Guild of Ancon (beside the former PTY now DIJ) . The building is a one storey wood building white with blue trim. Lots of parking in front.
The play will be directed by Carlos Williams and will run February 17, 18, 19, 20 and 24, 25, 26, 27
