Win a visit to Panamas Royal Wedding Bash

If your morning’s begin with  Gerry D on the Breakfast show, and you have access to a computer, which you do, or you wouldn’t be reading this, then you have the chance of a free pass for two to Panama’s Royal Wedding Celebration, on April 29.

Gerry D on the Breakfast ShowStarting Monday, April 11, Gerry (Downey) will be presenting a quiz on British Royalty. His Breakfast Show, with an eclectic  music selection and his own line of humorous, and sometimes barbed, commentary (in English of course) runs from 7- 9 a.m. daily on 89.3 FM.

The questions will not be difficult to  answer and,   if you were brought up in the UK, and  in elementary and high school, plodded through the lives of the monarchs starting with Offa (circa 747) and his wife Cynethyth (yes the Welsh blood line goes back a long way) right through to Queen Elizabeth II the answers will be, as Gerry might say “a piece of cake.”

If you are not a Brit, there is the computer, and an opportunity to brush up on your knowledge of Royals. Not as boring as you might think as the history is laced with skullduggery, blood and extra marital flings. Fourteen of the rulers were assassinated, murdered or executed, and if you want to know about high jinks in Paris, and beyond, the life of King Edward VII, will make tantalizing reading. The successor to Queen Victoria, who gave his name to the Edwardian era, died with his mistress at his bedside,  and many of the former “ruling classes” have descended from kings having a fling away from the cares of office.

But that’s enough history for today. If you want a chance to win a fun evening at the Union Club for a Royal Wedding Celebration, tune into The Breakfast show. The questions will also be published in Newsroom each day, after 9 a.m. The rules are simple. Send in your answers  to gerryd@pbcpanama.com

All the answers will go into a hat, and the winner will be drawn and announced on Monday April 18. So the more often you compete, the more chances of getting your name drawn.

The Celebration of the Wedding of Prince William of Wales to Kate Middleton at Westminster Abbey will be a fun event with music, and open bar for 5 hours, a wedding cake and the first opportunity to get a tombola ticket for a trip to London to visit the scene of the wedding. It will also be the place where he will be crowned King William 1V when he succeeds to the throne.

Don’t miss out. And if you don’t fancy your chances in the competition you can get more information and  tickets to the event from: clubcanadaplus@gmail.com or by calling 6619-6890
