Construction workers street protests will continue
The Union of Construction and Allied workers (SUNTRACS) will continue their street protests against government policies says their leader Saul Mendez.
He told Telemetro that union members will continue to deliver their leaflets "when we see fit to do so. Our protests will continue as on last Thursday and will be of a peaceful nature." He said their protests will be "on the medan strip" of the streets.
Their peaceful protests would continue because "this is a right that humanity has long won."
He added that the workers held in La Joya prison last week were denied due process and not allowed the right to defend.
“Lawyers for the workers were not allowed to enter the jail and deal with thecompetent authorities within 24 hours as prescribed by the Constitution," said Mendez.
