Pensioners unblock streets after Martinelli message

Jubilados (retirees and pensioners) who have been blocking roads in Panama at the Changuinola River bridge demanding a pension increase, re-opened the highways Friday after three hours of protests.

Their leader Eladio Fernandez said they would stop protesting because he received a message from the president, Ricardo Martinelli, promising a meeting next week.
The demonstrators, who have claimed that Martinelli has broken his election promises, are expecting a positive response.
