Panama murder case goes to trial 41 years on
Forty- one years after the death of a National Guard, during the Noriega military dictatorship, a murder case will be tried in Panama against former Minister of Government and Justice Daniel Delgado Diamante.
The hearing is set for October 6.
Although the death occurred in February 1970, an investigation was not opened until 2008. The Public Prosecutor's office got involved following the publication of a series of articles in La Prensa.
The investigation has involved four prosecutors: Ramses Barrera, Adolfo Pineda, Dimas Guevara and Franklin Amaya.
