Waiting for the winds of change in Panama

WHAT THE PAPERS SAY

La Prensa,July 10

President Martinelli began his first day in office with a symbolic gesture: mallet in hand, he attacked in Amador one of the icons of corruption and the private use of public assets of those close to the power of former presidents.

In less than two years, his friends are now asking just the same. Thus, governments depart, but it’s business as usual
There are the questionable  sales of state land for paltry cents  and irregular coastline concessions, seabed, river banks and beaches, everything, absolutely everything is available when you are near the President. What if the law gets in the way of greed? Well, let's change the law and dismisss any official that  has the guts to follow the law.

Politicians did  it before and they do it today. The more we know about the scenes of this administration, the more we discover the charade: everything has changed to stay the same.

Poor Panama! We want no more excuses no more lies no more attacks. Mr. President, are you behind this Amador business?
