Arrest warrant against refugee in Panama extended
The arrest warrant against Maria del Pilar Hurtado, former director of the Administrative Department of Security of of Colombia has been extended for a year.
The order came a Superior Court judge in Bogotá who extended for 12 months the existing arrest warrant against Hurtado who is the latest in a long line of people escaping the law who have been granted asylum in Panama.
Hurtado was allegedly involved in the wiretapping politicians, journalists and union leaders. According to a Colombain newspaper the arrest warrant was renewed From November by order of Judge Charles Hector Size Meanwhile, it was also reported that the Attorney General of Colombia, Viviane Morales, said he will talk to Supreme Court of his country to study the possibility of requesting the extradition of Hurtado, who since last year found asylum in Panama.
