Water shortage closing city schools
The Ministry of Education (Meduca) announced that classes in the educational regions of Panama, Central, East and San Miguelito will be suspended on Monday, November 21.
In the rest of the country, classes will be held as usual.
The closure is due to reduced drinking water production and improvement work on water mains by the Water and Sewage authority. (Idaan).
Earlier, Idaan reported that the Cjhilbre treatment plant has cut production Chilibre. This came after the shutdown of the plant while working on the drinking water main line that supplies the capital city.
The reduction has affected the supply of potable water in several parts of the city. Idaan also issued statement about discoloration of the water.
