Protestors slow traffic to speed talks

A group of about 200-Bugle Ngobe Bugle closed off a section of the Pan- American Highway, at the Vigui River Bridge on the border of the provinces of Chiriqui and Veraguas for an hour on Friday afternoon, February 17.

The blockade held up passenger and cargo transport heading for Chiriqui on the eve of Carnival. Indigenous demonstrators shouted slogans, claiming  that the government is delaying the ongoing dialogue with members of the Coalition for the Defense of Natural Resources and People's Rights and the Ngäbe Bugle.
