Panama male violent deaths increasing
Deaths by violence of men in Panama increased by 3.3% to 592 in 2011 say figures from the Comptroller General's Office.
Homicides, suicides and traffic accidents were the leading cause of death among males. Increased Homicide rates for the first four months of 2012 point to a continued climb in the annual total.
The destruction of families and the difficulty of companies searching for operating personnel are some of the consequences experienced by Panama because of the rising trend. Organizations and specialists are studying the issue with the aim of reducing the rates.
The statistics also show that one in every 100 men over 18 years is in prison
