Pearls of entertainment on Contadora

Out and About

With Lourdes Quijada.

Contadora The Las Perlas island that once gave refuge to the deposed Shah of Iran, is creating a weekend package that promises a unique string of pearls.

They come  in the form of reduced room rates at “Gerald's Hotel and Restaurant, special menus, multiple activities and explorations and all topped by entertainment from Piano-man Eddy Doran who has become a popular staple on the Panama night scene with his own band and his Chicago style piano solos.

Those of you who remember Gerald from his restaurant days in Bella Vista will find that he has not lost his culinary touch or his warm welcome for customers. His popular restaurant and bar on Contadora is the place to relax and enjoy after a day sampling the multi- entertainment offerings of the island.

He has now added hotel rooms and villas, all coming at special rates on the July 6 – 8 weekend.

The “Contadora Welcome Center”  is working with Gerald  on the special weekend package of island activities In addition to the entertainment and traditional fine food and drink of the  restaurant  there are special rates on rooms or villas which will be coordinated by the Center see www.contadorapanama.com or call  6212 7383 for full details of activities on the island and the weekend availability for the event.

The center promotes all island activities such as fishing, snorkel and scuba diving, boat tours, canoes, golf carts and bikes …all designed to offer visitors the best of times possible in Panama.

The island ferry leaves from the Perico Island docks on Amador Causeway at 8 o’clock  each morning and returns from Contadora at 3 pm

Air transportation is provided by AirPanama with two or three flights daily. So maybe it’s time  to get away from it all and discover what attracted the Shah, and to sample the pearly offerings. You will be welcomed as soon as you put foot on the island and, who knows, you may be tempted to say goodbye to life on the mainland.
