85% of Panama homes without water on Tuesday

Panama's water woes returned to Panama with a vengeance on Tuesday September 11 as 85 percent of users got up  to discover there was  no water for drinking or showering.

The cause was damage to a  12 inch diameter water pipe ha had been reported on Monday night at   the Chilibre’s water treatment plant..

.Water tanks were promised for the stricken areas, but many had not arrived by noon.

 Idaan’s director Adbiel Cano said that the authority' staff along with staff from the Panama Canal Authority had  found a way to solve the problem but could not forecast  how long it would take but the problem was solved by 1.30 pm and all homes were expected to e serviced by day's end.
