Big spending to sell electoral reforms

Panama’s controversial electoral reforms have taken another bite out of the administration’s budget.

In just 11 days, reports La Prensa, the Assembly spent $98,123 641 of taxpayer money on TV ads and radio spots to trumpet the reforms, according to official documents.
Not included was the cost of propaganda that issued after the passage of the bill, paid for said Sergio Galvez, president of the legislature, with a whip round between members.
