Three dead, four injured in Carnival exodus
THE FIRST fatalies in the 2013 carnival migration from Panama City occurred early on Saturday February 9.
An 82 year old man died from injures received at 6 am in an accident in Espavé, in the district of Chepo. and the 911 Emergency Management program reported two people (a man and a woman) killed and three seriously injured in a three car collision on the Corridor North near Clayton at 8,50 am. The injured were taken to hospital. A fourth injured person was said to be in stable condition.
Traffic police booked 1,341 drivers on the first full day of Carnival.
Speeding tickets were handed out to 406, drivers and and 25 were booked for drunk driving. In addition, 63 vehicles were towed.
