Metro Bus crisis: Twitter war between CD figureheads
The continuing public transit crisis has led to a Twitter war between the current Minister of the Presidency and his predecessor.
Former Minister Demetrio Papadimitriu who resigned under a cloud of allegations about his family’s involvement in controversial land deals called on his successor to take off his jackets and solve the transport problems, said TVN.
His replacement, Minister Roberto Henriquez lambasted the former official.
"When he fled the government he left behind all his commitments. Now it’s up to others to correct what he did. Better to continue resting," Henriquez wrote in his Twitter account.
Papadimitriu had written: "People, I took eight months out of government. Now it’s up to the other to remove his jacket and go outside to step up and no excuses"
Both messages came after the Presidency Minister, Roberto Henriquez, said in News AM that Papadimitriu minister had not complied with the schedule of compensation and implementation of the Metro Bus that he Papadimitriu had established.
According to the schedule, the entire system should have been operating transport in August 2012, including stops and pay zones, whose installation has been delayed by problems with the land.
Henríquez’s post received the backing of former deputy foreign minister, Francisco Alvarez de Soto and Labor Minister Alma Cortés.
Alvarez de Soto wrote on Twitter: "@ RCHENRIQUEZ very well answered. You speak with deeds, not words."
The Labor Minister wrote: "@ RCHENRIQUEZ Your job as Minister of Presidency speaks for itself. Much serenity and peace to work."
