Gabriela Lineth González del Valle, Miss Chiriquí, is the new Miss Universe Panama 2026. A new reign, a new story, and a new dream begin on the road to the Miss Universe stage!
Panama has a new queen… and the universe is hers! This Saturday, September 5, Gabriela Lineth González, 20, was chosen to represent Panama at Miss Universe 2026 on November 24 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The winner, representing the province of Chiriquí and a medical student, was selected from among the 28 contestants in the pageant held at the Roberto Durán Arena.
During the Gala Event, Five Special Awards were Also Given to the Following Participants:
- Social Outreach: Miss Taboga
- Digital Ambassador: Miss Bocas del Toro
- Miss Photogenic: Miss Chiriquí West
- Best Skin: Miss Colón
- Miss Friendship: Miss Panama North
A tense and unexpected moment occurred during the live broadcast of the Miss Panama 2026 pageant, when the representative of the province of Los Santos, Ilanith Ávila pictured above, suffered a health issue on the main stage. The incident occurred just after the evening gown competition ended, moments before the presenters announced the group of seven finalists. Ávila began to show signs of physical instability and stagger on stage; although one of her fellow contestants tried to quickly catch her, the candidate ended up falling to the ground to the surprise of the public and the television audience. The incident immediately mobilized production and emergency personnel at the facility. There was Immediate medical assistance and a pause in the broadcast.
