First metro subway trains on Panamanian soil

THE FIRST three trains destined for Panama’s Metro subway arrived on Saturday, May 25, at the port of Manzanillo, in the province of Colon.

They are the first of 19 trains, each with three cars that have been shipped from Barcelona, Spain. The balance will arrive through to September and will be assembled in Albrook for testing at year end,

In total, the Metro will have 57 cars, each with a capacity of 250 passengers . As demand increases the trains will pull up to five cars says Panama Metro secretary Roberto Roy.
