A $250,00 payment for a website for the Ombudsman’s office is being audited on orders of the Comptroller General.

The payment was to Jean Paul Ortega the 23 year old owner of Imaginarium Studio, SA and a ruling party activist. Experts say the deal is more than seven times the market value.

Comptroller officials arrived at the Ombudsman’s office at about 11:45 am, on Wednesday just as the defender, Patria Portugal, met with members of civil society who demanded a meeting to clarify the contract says La Prensa.
According to Magaly Castillo of the Citizens Alliance for Justice, the Ombudsman provided a series of documents and the contract, which fo them to review and analyze and give their opinion.
"Here we are told that it was a website, it was not a logo, but comprehensive advice regarding the institution's image, but we will review to give an opinion," said Castillo.
Ombudsperson Patria Portugal, made no statements, and attended the meeting with a group of directors of the entity to clarify the doubts of the civil society group.
