Do or die for Panama World Cup hopes

IT’S DO OR DIE on Tuesday, June 18 for Panama’s soccer team bidding for a place in the World Cup in Brazil.

Costa Rica, Honduras and Panama are all seeking three points in World Cup qualifying games.

Honduras, ranked fourth with seven points in five matches, faces the U.S., which leads with 10 points.
Costa Rica, which is second with eight points, faces a desperate Panama team that is in fifth place with six points.
The top three teams qualify for the World Cup directly and the fourth-place team will have a play-off with New Zealand.
The U.S. has won its last two games by identical 2-0 scores, against Panama and Jamaica.
Costa Rica is coming off a 0-0 tie with Mexico. Panama and Costa Rica tied 2-2 in their first game in Panama City.
