Government $22.7million advertising blatant waste

THE SPENDING of $22.7 million on advertising is a blatant waste of state funds says the executive secretary of the Citizens Alliance for Justice, Magaly Castillo. The spending on advertising was between July 2009 and June 2013 by the administration of President Ricardo Martinelli.
Castillo questioned the fact that the funds that could be used in health, education and justice are being squandered in advertisements with the aim of keeping the government in power
She said the excessive use of state resources in the dissemination of advertising impacts as unfair competition against the independent and opposition candidates.
However, said Castillo said on TVN News, on Monday be sure that someday in the country there will be legislation over the limit of private donations and campaign spending.
