Investigation of police fusillade at SUV carrying family
MORE DETAILS have been released of the fusillade of police bullets that hit a car carrying a family on Friday November 18, sending two to hospital with bullet wounds.
The Public Ministry ( MP ) has taken statements from the three women who were injured in the incident involving officials of the National Police .
It come only days after a previous shooting incident that killed two children, was being reconstructed by investigators in San Carlos, in which two officers have been charged with homicide.
The incident occurred Friday night in Villa Zaíta , Las Cumbres. Rosario Saavedra de Godoy , a professor at the University of Panama , was grazed by a bullet in the leg and her 67 years-old mother , Leyda Nunez, was shot in the leg and another in the buttocks . They were traveling in the Toyota Prado with Masley Guillen , and three minors reports La Prensa.
In a statement, on Sunday, November 17 the MP said that evidence has been collected atthe scene in order to determine whether police officers met the respective controls for this type of action.
Tests are being made on the vehicle to establish how many bullets were used and their trajectory the report said .
The white Prado , had 10 bullet holes : in the tires and the body . The two injured women were taken to hospital .
