Contingency plan to control Paso Canoa seasonal border influx
A CONTINGENCY plan to cope with the high flow of people across the Panama-Costa Rica border at Paso Canoa will come into effect at 4 am Thursday December 26.
Moses Cortés Serrano, provincial director of the immigration office, reported that 40,425 people, foreigners and nationals crossed the border point between December 1 and 24.
"The increased number of persons entering our country, for many parts of Central America which is why we are strengthening attention with four wickets to seal the entrances to Panama and four wickets to control departures from the country," he said.
